Foxglove Cottage -Laide
Set in its peaceful woodland garden, Foxglove Cottage is a traditional stone built croft house, which has been sympathetically renovated and extended. Its situation at the northern extremity of the peninsula between Loch Ewe and Gruinard Bay gives superb views of the Summer Isles and mountains to the north and east. Nearby Mellon Udrigle beach is the perfect sandy bay for swimming, boating and building sand castles. The cottage has 3 bedrooms and sleeps up to 8 people. Duvets and bed linen are provided. A cot and high chair are also available. There are 2 bathrooms each with bath and shower with separate WC. The large and comfortable sitting room with multifuel stove has three windows overlooking the private and secluded garden. The kitchen and utility room are well equipped and have ample storage. Facilities include fridge, fridge-freezer, electric cooker, microwave oven, washing machine and tumble drier. Many of our visitors return year after year for a restful holiday in beautiful and tranquil surroundings. Electricity is charged according to meter readings at beginning and end of stay. The world famous tropical gardens at Inverewe are only 9 miles away. Beinn Eighe Nature Reserve and Visitor Centre is within easy reach. The accommodation comprises a spacious open-plan lounge/dining room/kitchen, which is equipped to a very high standard with all modern conveniences. There is a utility room with washing machine, tumble drier and drying cupboard. A delightful cottage in the coastal village of Laide enjoying spectacular views towards the Summer Isles, surrounding mountains and rural landscapes. Built in 1992, exceptionally well-equipped and maintained, abd often described as a little home from home. Each year customers return knowing that the house will be warm, welcoming and clean for their arrival with a welcome tray of tea and home baking ready and the fire burning. The cottage is equipped to a very high standard and includes dishwasher, coffee-maker, food processor, fridge-freezer, microwave, electric cooker, iron, deep fryer, toaster, washing machine, tumble dryer, TV, video, stereo, coal fire, barbecue, sun-loungers and ample parking. Our STB 4 star graded, first floor, self-catering apartment has fantastic far-reaching views over Loch Ewe towards the Hebrides and is situated at Drumchork, in an elevated position above the village of Aultbea. Aultbea has a craft/gift shop and tearoom, well stocked general store, excellent butcher, post office, two hotels, doctor’s surgery, and several churches. Nearby there are extensive walks through spectacular scenery, and sandy beaches within an easy drive – you can walk right into the mountains from the apartment without even getting in your car! Owned and run by Joan and Peter Deakin and family, the purpose-built apartment is modern and light and provides a comfortable “home-from-home” base from which to tour Wester Ross and beyond. It is completely self-contained, and well equipped to accommodate 2/3 people. The sitting/dining area is well furnished and affords wonderful sea views. There is a colour TV, DVD player and radio/CD player. A fitted kitchen area has electric cooker, microwave, fridge etc. The bathroom has bath and electric shower. Rose Cottage, Laide
Rose Cottage is a real home; comfortable, modern and fully equipped. The cottage sleeps 4 in one double and one twin room. In a beautiful and tranquil setting, 10 minutes walk from the local beach, it is a good area for walkers of all abilities. There is a well-stocked shop at Laide, which is also a post office and filling station. There are excellent opportunities for loch fishing nearby, more details can be found in several local guides including Fishing in the Gairloch Area. There is a small garden with table and chairs. We regret that we are unable to accommodate smokers. Pets welcome. Bookings normally Saturday to Saturday but short breaks sometimes available.
