There are many ways to get involved or contribute to the work of GALE. Here are some suggestions

Become a Member

If you like what we do and want to show your support and get involved the best thing to do is become a member of GALE. Members of GALE own the Company and have a say in how it is managed and what projects we undertake. Make sure you have your say by joining GALE today!

Tell a Friend

Help promote our work by telling your friends about us and our projects. Encouraging others to make use of our services will help secure their continuation. From visiting Poolewe Market to entering the Gairloch Show it all helps to support our work

Volunteer with GALE

If you have a spare hour or two and would like to do something worthwhile for your local community then volunteering for GALE could be the answer. We have a whole range of volunteering opportunities that could really make a difference in our local community. Here are a few ideas to get you started

Spend a morning or afternoon at the Gairloch Tourist Information Centre, a good place to meet people and have a blether while providing an important local service!
Help out at the annual Gairloch & District Show either on show day itself or by joining the working group to help with all the pre-show preparation.
Spend half a day at Poolewe Market helping with the tea and coffee stall. You’ll even get a chance to wander round the market too and sample a cake – or two!
Become a board member of GALE and be involved in the management decisions of GALE at the quarterly meetings.
Help keep our website up to date by writing aticles and news stories
We always have lots of administrative jobs to be done such as printing leaflets and fliers, writing letters, entering statisitcs and financial figures on our computer system and much more

Whatever your skills or however much time you have available we will probably have a job for you. Please do contact us if you feel you can help in any way.

Financial Support

Our activities and positive impact on the local area are always retricted due to the amount of finance we have available. We are always looking for new ways to raise funds for local community projects and there are currently a number of ways you can support our work financially

Make a financial donation. You can currently do this by sending us a cheque made out to GALE. As a registered charity we can also send you a Gift Aid Declaration to sign which enables us to claim a further 28p in every £1 you donate from HMRC if you are a UK tax payer.

Buy gifts, maps, stationery and stamps at Gairloch Tourist Information Centre shop. The profits on all the sales from the shop at Gairloch Tourist Information Centre are used to support our work.

Take out an advertisement on our website.

Hire a stall or do your shopping at Poolewe Market. All the stall fees we collect help finance the organisation of Poolewe Market.
