Gairloch Tourist Information Centre
The Gairloch Tourist Information Centre is located next to the Gairloch Community Centre.
It is managed by Gairloch and Loch Ewe Action Forum (GALE) in partnership with VisitScotland and carries all relevant information for VisitScotland members’ accommodation and services. In addition, the staff will endeavour to answer any queries you may have regarding the local area or any other area of Scotland that you intend to visit. Whatever your question we will do our best to give you a satisfactory answer!
Leaflets detailing local facilities and attractions are available free of charge and a list of local events is updated each week. A full colour free brochure can be obtained which lists amenities available throughout the Highlands area.
As a charity, GALE relies upon donations and fundraising efforts. For this reason all items in the TIC shop are sold to help finance the work of GALE and the continued manning of the TIC. The more items we sell the more hours we can remain open. It is our aim to offer a service 7 days a week in peak season and to remain open throughout the year even if only on a restricted basis.
The shop sells a wide range of books and maps, including walking guides, CDs, postcards, calendars, cards and even wet weather gear. In an effort to promote local skills it also stocks many hand crafted cards and gifts that have been produced locally to a high standard and, in some cases, only available within the local area.
Feel free to call in and browse and if you have any comments please let us know! You may find just what you are looking for and be helping a local charity as you buy. If you are not able to visit us in person, then why not browse the selection of items available mail order from our online shop.

We have been manufacturing outdoor clothing in Poolewe for nearly 20 years. During that time we have established a reputation for quality and excellence of design. We supply all RAF Search & Rescue helicopter crews and RAF Mountain Rescue teams, and voluntary rescue organisations throughout the country.
Our outdoor shop has a wide range of our famous products, plus other specialist equipment for exploring some of Scotland`s wildest and loneliest landscapes. Staff with specialist knowledge are always available to give advice and taken measurements if you require a garment made-to-measure.

Poolewe Market, Poolewe Village Hall
Every Tuesday from 28 March to 31 October 2006, then 14 and 28 November, pre-Christmas Saturday market on 9 December and again Tuesday 19 December for those late presents!
Visit the popular Poolewe Market where there will be up to 20 different stalls selling local products such as antiques, paintings, ceramics, cards, jewellery, gifts, soaps, home baking, preserves, home-grown fruit and vegetables and much more. Locals regard the market as a popular fixture, somewhere to have a chat and a cup of tea, pick up fresh vegetables and home bakes, or buy that special gift. Many of the products on offer are made locally and are unique to the area.
Tea, Coffee and Home baking are always available, with cakes being baked by stallholders or GALE staff and all profits being used to help finance the work of GALE. There is also a selection of goods for sale which are also on sale at the Gairloch Tourist Centre, administered by VisitScotland and GALE in partnership.

Gairloch Bike Hire offers high quality mountain bikes at competitive prices. All the adult bikes (all new in 2004) have light aluminium frames, suspension and 21-speed shimano gears. The childrens bikes are similarly well equipped, providing hours of holiday fun.
Helmets, padlocks, spare inner tubes and full puncture repair outfits are provided at no extra cost. Substantial discounts are available for longer hires and delivery to and from your holiday accommodation can be provided (10p a mile up to 20 miles from Gairloch).
